Urban Decay Naked Basics Palette Review

Urban Decay Naked Basics Palette Review

On Christmas Eve, I picked up the Urban Decay Naked Basics Palette. I know I'm a little late to the party, but lake is better than never right? This Palette is half the size of the other Naked Palettes, where as the other palettes hold twelve shadows, this palette holds six. this palette is supposed to be the best of both the Naked and Naked 2 palette, which hold a mix of both matte and shimmer shades, this palette holds five matte and one "Demi Matte"

  •  All of these are swatched without a primer
The first shade, Venus is described as a  soft off white demi matte. In my opinion, there is too much shimmer to be called a "demi matte". This shadow makes the perfect highlight shade.
the next shade, Foxy, is described as a very soft yellow white matte. Foxy is there in the swatch, it is just very light and soft, it is barely detectable

The next shade, W.O.S or Walk of Shame, is a very light nude matte, and I can detect a slight pink undertone. this shade is close to my eye lid color, so it looks as if its not even there on me.
Naked 2, is a taupe matte, and is the perfect transition shade.

Faint is described as a warm dusty brown matte
Finally Crave is described as a deepest darkest brown/black matte. i don't know that i can detect any brown undertones, but it does appear to have some gray undertones to it (but that is my opinion).

Swatched left to right, with a primer: Crave, Venus, Foxy, W.O.S,  Naked 2 and Faint

This palette has six shades that blend wonderfully, and are really, as the name says, nice, basic shades., that can be worn both day and night(just wear a bolder lip), and they are perfect for work, school, just around the house, or in town.
Available for $27 from Urban Decay, Sephora, Ulta
